A string of scoops brings Fuji Television a historical feat among commercial broadcasters. Our news programs are strongly supported and trusted by the public.

When the Great East Japan Earthquake hit northern Japan on March 11th, 2011, Fuji Network stations came together as one and thoroughly covered the aftermath of the disaster for a prolonged period of time. We launched a special news program immediately after the occurrence of the disaster and continued to broadcast for 61 straight hours, without commercial breaks. This broadcast earned top ratings and proved how popular and highly respected Fuji Television news programs are among its viewers.
Fuji Television has received 3 awards presented by the Nihon Shinbun Kyokai (The Japan Newspaper Publishers & Editors Association), an independent organization representing daily newspapers, news agencies and broadcasters in Japan, for "The shooting of a Japanese journalist in Myanmar (2008)," "The Hepatitis C Epidemic (2003)," and "Rescue footage of a survivor at the Japan Airlines crash site (1985)." This is a prestigious award honoring distinguished news coverage. Fuji Television is the only commercial broadcaster to have received this award three times.
Our 28 domestic affiliated network stations and 12 overseas bureaus make Fuji Television the largest Japanese news gathering organization. The evening news program, "FNN Super News" has been the highest rated network news program for 9 consecutive years and other programs such as "News JAPAN," "FNN Speak," and "Shinhodo 2001" have also earned strong reputation and support from the viewers.
In addition, Fuji Television produces "Prime News" aired on BS Fuji. This two-hour ground-breaking news debate program delves into today's crucial issues in politics, economy, international relations and more, each time exchanging in-depth opinions, perspectives, and suggestions concerning Japan's future with one guest.
