52 of the finest masterpieces of the Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) are to be shown in a traveling exhibition in three cities in Japan: Nagoya, Osaka, and finally in Tokyo. Founded in 1885, the Detroit Institute of Arts is one of the leading art museums in the United States. The museums' collections include more than 65,000 individual pieces of art, ranging from ancient Egyptian artifacts to contemporary art of 21 century, and represent a wide range of cultures.
