THE 34TH TOSHIBA GRAND CONCERT 2015

Inviting distinguished conductors and orchestras from around the world to Japan every year to perform with a splendid list of soloists, the Toshiba Grand Concert is one of the most venerable annual classical music events. For its 34th year, the Toshiba Grand Concert 2015 will feature the National Orchestra of Toulouse Capitole (the Orchestra National du Capitole de Toulouse) with an internationally-acclaimed conductor Mr. Tugan Sokhiev.

The National Orchestra of Toulouse Capitole is one of the most prestigious French orchestras and has toured extensively around the world, enchanting audiences in many countries. This year, they are finally returning to Japan for the second time to perform for the Toshiba Grand Concert Series since 1999.

The Russian Maestro Tugan Sokhiev became the Music Director of the Orchestra in 2008 a mere age of 30. Today he is one of the most promising young conductors in the world and has garnered praise from critics, colleagues, and audiences alike. 

The Orchestra will be joined by distinguished French violinist Renaud Capuçon and Yulianna Avdeeva, russian pianist, winner of the 16th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, 2010.

Whether a classical newcomer or longtime listener, this concert is sure to delight any music lover of all generations!
