Fuji Television is not only Japan's top-rated broadcaster, but is also a premier film production studio. Since its first movie production in 1969, Fuji Television has continued to produce high-quality entertainment for the big screen for over 40 years.

Fuji Television's position as the country's leading television network is its ultimate strength as a film maker, which allows integration of vast resources, know-how, and viewer loyalty into its filmmaking process. Through project inception, development, production, and marketing campaigns, Fuji Television prides itself on its "hands-on" production capabilities. No matter which medium content it delivers, viewers recognize Fuji Television's logo as a mark of excellence.
Fuji Television's unique style of film production continues to produce commercial blockbusters. By adapting well-known television dramas into motion pictures, we have built-in audiences and marketing systems for our films resulting in a string of commercial successes. The 2003 mega hit, "Bayside Shakedown 2," the sequel to the film-adaptation of Fuji Television's popular television series, attracted a crowd of 12.8 million viewers, grossed 17.35 billion yen ($220 million USD), and still holds the record as the biggest live-action box office success in Japanese movie history.
In fact, Fuji Television holds 6 out of the top 10 highest grossing live action films in Japanese cinematic history: 1st "Bayside Shakedown 2," 2nd "Antarctica," 3rd "Milo and Otis," 4th "Bayside Shakedown," 9th "Hero," and 10th "The Last Message Umizaru." Having released over 250 films to date and making an average of 10-15 new films each year, Fuji Television continues to dominate as the leading film studio in Japan.
